DAY 4 - Flight to Denizli - Full Day Pamukkale - Hierapolis Tour
Are you ready to feel like you are on the top of a cotton castle? For this fascinating tour, we will pick you up from your hotel for a flight to Denizli in the early morning. You will be transferred to Istanbul Airport to fly Denizli. When we arrive we will drive to Pamukkale meaning ‘’Cotton Castle’’ and it is the most fitting name because the brilliant white calcified terraces do truly resemble a castle made of cotton. You will feel like you are in a dream. We will visit Cleopatra hot spring thermal pool (fee will be extra), where you will be able to swim and have a relaxing moment in an awesome, unique place. While you are swimming you may think that you are in a pool where once Cleopatra swam thousands of years ago, may feel the nature and history together inside yourself. Our next station is Hierapolis, whose ruins currently comprise an archaeological museum designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is also called a Holy City in Archeological literature because there were many temples and religious buildings in Hierapolis. Hierapolis, which was founded as a thermal spa in the early 2nd century BC, has one of the largest and most diverse necropoleis in the world filled with sarcophagi, including the famous sarcophagus of Marcus Aurelius Ammianos, which bears the earliest known example of a crank and rod mechanism.
At the end of the tour, we will take you to the hotel, stay overnight in Kusadasi.
